Painted en plein air on a brisk November afternoon, this piece captures the exact moment the tide reached its peak at Faversham Creek. The artist stood along the muddy banks as the sun dipped behind the boatyards, casting gold and lavender reflections across the water.
02 / Meticulous Handcraft
Using earth pigments ground by hand and blended with local cold-pressed linseed oil, Polly layered paint with a palette knife to build the rich, textured impasto hulls of the historic sailing barges. The frame was custom-cut from reclaimed English oak rafters salvaged from a Kent barn.
