Restored Victorian Campaign Writing Slope
01 / Sourcing & Discovery
Discovered in a Rochester estate sale, this traveling campaign slope dates to the late 19th century. Built for travelers to write correspondence on the road, it features heavy brass bindings to protect the corners.
02 / Meticulous Handcraft
We carefully cleaned the brass fittings to preserve their historical surface marks. The mahogany case was sanded and waxed to bring out its deep grain, and the writing surface was re-lined with organic linen dyed in our studio indigo vat.
03 / Character & Living
Placed on a study desk or console table, this slope holds stationery, envelopes, and inkwells, serving as a beautiful daily tribute to the art of handwriting.
