Curated Victorian Hatter's Millinery Block
01 / Sourcing & Discovery
Discovered in Canterbury, this sycamore mold was used by Victorian milliners to shape hats. Its smooth dome and abstract, human-like outline make it a striking modernist sculpture.
02 / Meticulous Handcraft
We gently cleaned the surface of dust, leaving the dark, rich patina and all historic needle and pin pricks. The wood was treated with home-brewed organic beeswax to protect the sycamore.
03 / Character & Living
Placed on a sideboard or library shelf, this block serves as a beautiful primitive wood sculpture, bringing a sense of history and organic shape to modern interiors.
