Restored Arts & Crafts Oak Bench
01 / Sourcing & Discovery
Rescued from an old village schoolhouse hall in Wye, Kent, this bench was built during the dawn of the Arts & Crafts movement (circa 1895). Its structural timber skeleton is solid, representing the era's rebellion against factory production.
02 / Meticulous Handcraft
At our restoration bench, the old broken wicker seat was entirely removed. Our resident artisan spent three days re-weaving the seat by hand using harvested Kentish rush. The oak wood was carefully stripped of grime and finished with multiple coats of home-brewed organic beeswax and linseed oil.
03 / Character & Living
Perfect for an entryway or mudroom. Sitting on this bench to lace your boots connects you to a century of history, adding a scent of natural beeswax and dried rush to your home.
