"Faversham Tide" Sculptural Ceramic Totem
01 / Sourcing & Discovery
Inspired by the wooden groynes and sea markers along the Swale estuary, this totem sculpture was coiled and assembled in our Faversham studio.
02 / Meticulous Handcraft
Each geometric shape is hand-built using a heavily textured grogged clay body. After assembly, the totem is coated in a dark charcoal-ash slip wash made from fireplace soot and wood ash, then fired to stoneware temperature to create a matte, textured surface.
03 / Character & Living
This sculpture creates a striking silhouette on a sideboard or windowsill. The textured surface catches the light, bringing a bold, architectural element to your interior spaces.
